March, the month of friends & family; April, the month of school

10 april 2019 - Madrid, Spanje

As the title already suggests; I had a lot of visits the last month! And it was SO good!

My boyfriend was here for the second time, as well as some family of his, my best friend came over with her sister, my parents were here for almost a week... It was so great to finally show my friends and family the life that I'm living here in Madrid. Despite the visits, I had to go to school, but I spend as much time with them as possible and it was super enjoyable!

At school everything is fine. I must admit that it is quite hard to write new blogs, because I'm so much used to the life I'm living here, that there is usually not much to tell. However, I just thought it was a while ago so it would be about time to give a (short) update.

The last few weeks are a fact now: this week we are rounding off projects, including handing in written reports and doing final presentations.
Yesterday, we did a presentation for the subject of Marketing & Promotion. For an event, we had to look from a consultant perspective and advise change to make for the event. Our event was King's Day, so I had the chance to tell something about our National Holiday, which was really fun. Me and my Spanish colleagues for this project all dressed up in orange; I bought some Dutch "Drop & Stroopwafels" at HEMA to hand out before the presentation, and off we went. The teacher was really happy with the presentation and it was nice to introduce this Dutch festivity to my Spanish classmates.

Next week, there is one week of holidays, because of Easter. Then there is one more week of class and then I have four exams:
29th of April ; Image & Brand
30th of April ; Marketing & Promotion
8th of May ; Organization & Team Synergy (this subject is actually HR)
10th of May ; Catering

There is one subject (Production, Design & Scenography) for which we don't have an exam, but a practical assignment instead. For this subject we are working on a pop-up store. We had to come up with a brand/product/service for which we were going to set up a pop-up store (which is a temporary store for a few days/weeks). Not a real one, but we are actually building this pop-up store on scale. So this subject is very creative, I would say. I think it is nice, between the theoretical ones, to have a practical subject like this as well.

After my last exam, in the evening of the 10th of May, I will visit together with my ex-roommate the Mutua Madrid Open tennis tournament; super excited for that! And assuming (crossing fingers) that I will pass all my exams all at once; I already booked my tickets back home.
So the next day, 11th of May, this incredible journey will come to an end!

Which also means, my third study year is more or less finished.
Which also means, GRADUATION YEAR IS COMING!
Time goes so so SO fast!
